Camp Crescent Moon
UMS Banking comes to the aid of children with sickle cell disease.
Joyce Gaines, CEO of UMS Banking, recently organized aid to the Sickle Cell foundation children’s summer camp by rounding up and supplying much needed items so the children could enjoy a week of camp.
Camp Crescent Moon is run by the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California, operating for more than 35 summers and providing an outdoors experience for children suffering with sickle cell anemia. Our donation of items is ALWAYS much appreciated.
Ms.Gaines hearing of the needs, organized a drive and successfully collected the many items needed for the 48 children to attend and be able to enjoy games, art projects, sing-alongs, snacks, and dinners while camping in cabins for the week.
“The rewards for such an endeavor are the smiles and laughter of the children enjoying the outdoors and the time away at camp.”
